What We Do

The Goose Bay Airport serves as the vital hub that connects Labrador and the North to the rest of Canada. At the heart of our operation, GBAC ensures that the airport runs efficiently, that it provides top-level service to the people who fly in and out, and that we are at the forefront of efforts to improve service and make travel affordable.

About GBAC

Our Community

GBAC exists for the benefit of the Upper Lake Melville region and works closely with local stakeholders, businesses, and residents. The Corporation recognizes the airport’s vital role in supporting the community, from tourism and business travel to emergency medical flights and essential cargo deliveries. Through ongoing dialogue and collaboration, GBAC ensures the airport continues to evolve in ways that serve the needs of Labradorians while promoting growth, opportunity, and connection across the North.

Our Operations

The Goose Bay Airport features two major runways capable of accommodating some of the largest aircraft in the world. The airport is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and designated as an Airport of Entry, serving both domestic and international flights.

With modern navigational aids and one of the world’s most advanced air traffic control radar systems, Goose Bay operates around the clock to provide commercial, charter, and emergency response services. The airport handles an average of 160,000 passengers annually through its terminal building.
